Fire Hydrant System

A fire hydrant system is a safety precaution or emergency equipment that is compulsory in some buildings. It consists of a set of components that, when connected correctly, provides a supply of water to aid fire officials in the event of a fire.

The fire hydrant system is intended to tackle large-scale fires in all risk classifications. It is designed to function even if a portion of the affected building collapses.

Fire hydrants are classified into two types: dry risers and wet risers. The wet riser fire hydrant has a continual water flow, but the dry riser fire hydrant requires a valve to be opened to let water in.
