FIRE PREVENTION CHECKLIST | Explanatory Notes for Fire Prevention Checklist
Purpose of the checklist :
- To encourage building proprietors/occupiers to complete routine inspections on fire safety provisions of their own properties & to amend minor inconsistencies identified.
- For the general use of building proprietors/occupiers. The items for inspection are normal but are fundamental on fire safety.
- If most in the Checklist is ‘No’, it means that fire prevention of the building is not prioritize & should be properly checked by the inspection personnel.
- If there is hesitation in amending the inconsistencies, building proprietors/occupiers may seek relevant information or refer with professionals or relevant government departments.
- The Checklist act as a general guidance only, it is a good thing to assign a professional to check the building conditions frequently.
- The Checklist should be retained by the building proprietors/occupiers for compulsory follow-up & future referral.
