BINTULU, May 2025 – A longhouse fire 45km from Bintulu destroyed 12 living units and injured a senior citizen. Due to the remote location, firefighters had to use boats to cross a river before beginning the operation.

Longhouses are particularly vulnerable due to wooden structures and close living quarters.
