The Mines Shopping Mall was on Fire
KUALA LUMPUR: A shoe shop at the Mines shopping mall was burnt down in a fire. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Norazam Khamis said the incident occurred at about 11.52am on Sunday (Jan 15).
“Firemen from three fire stations were dispatched to the scene. The shop lot was completely destroyed in the fire,” he said when contacted. Norazam added that the fire was brought under control by 12.25pm.
Fortunately, all employees at the shoe store escaped in time and no one was injured. All employees and customers were evacuated urgently when the fire broke out. As of the time of writing, there are no injuries or casualties reported.
In the photos and videos shared by netizens, thick smoke was seen coming out from the mall. The alarm system was activated, and the fire department was already at the scene fighting the fire. It has also caused traffic jams around the area.
“We are still investigating the cause of the fire,” he said, adding that no victims were involved in the fire.
