Jakel Shah Alam catches fire again
Popular textile outlet Jakel Shah Alam caught fire again early this morning, just two days after a similar incident destroyed almost 80% of the three-storey building in Section 7, Shah Alam.
This time, the fire started from the 30×40 square metre curtain storage on the building’s third floor, according to Astro Awani.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Chief Norazam Khamis said a total of 43 people from six stations were deployed to put out the fire after an emergency call was received at 12:40 a.m. The fire was brought under control by 1.45am and completely extinguished at 3.07pm. No one was hurt.
A fire broke out at the outlet on Sunday, believed to have started in the men’s clothing department on the first floor. Shah Alam police chief Iqbal Ibrahim was reported to have said that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
The clothing retailer suffered an estimated damage of nearly RM 100 million after Sunday’s incident.
